Katie Moody graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Belhaven University in 2014. After performing and teaching professionally for several years, she returned to school and received a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Mississippi College in 2021. Soon after, Katie received her certification from the Music Teachers National Association and started participating in events and conferences with the local chapter, Mississippi Music Teachers Association. She started a Doctor of Arts in Music Education in 2024 and is excited to continue her educational journey while helping her students pursue theirs.

Additional Information

At Belhaven, Katie plays piano collaboratively with students and ensembles and teaches lessons and piano classes. She also assigns and oversees collaborative professional and student pianists, assignments, and contracts for the music department.

Katie has been an active performer in her community for over a decade. She is involved in local performances, including high-school productions, church services, and concerts. She is a staff pianist at First Baptist Madison Church and St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. She loves participating in frequent community events and is passionate about connecting her students with professional opportunities. She believes classroom learning combined with real-world experience builds an essential foundation for students seeking music careers.

Katie lives in Madison with her husband, Daniel. You can find her playing beach volleyball, biking, or boating on the reservoir in her free time. She loves the outdoors and doing anything active.
