Megan Mijo Rowan is an accomplished collaborative pianist and music educator based in Jackson, Mississippi. She holds a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from the University of Southern Mississippi (2023) and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a piano performance emphasis, summa cum laude, from Belhaven University (2014). Megan serves as Coordinator of Choral Music at Lakeland Presbyterian Church and as an Adjunct Collaborative Pianist and Instructor at Belhaven University. Her professional experience spans over a decade and includes roles as a freelance collaborative pianist, church musician, accompanist for opera and choral ensembles, and private piano teacher. She has worked with organizations such as Opera Mississippi, Jackson Academy, and the Belhaven University Theatre Department, showcasing her versatility as a pianist in sacred and secular contexts. Her teaching expertise extends to private piano instruction and classroom settings, having taught middle and high school choral music and music appreciation at St. Augustine School and Freshman Seminar at Belhaven University. As a graduate assistant at the University of Southern Mississippi, Megan accompanied numerous recitals, juries, and large ensembles, further refining her skills in collaborative artistry. Megan has participated in master classes with renowned artists, including Martin Katz, Camilla Tilling, and Kristin Chavez. She has been a featured participant in festivals such as the International Performing Arts Institute in Germany and the Collaborative Piano Institute in Minnesota. Her dedication to her craft is evident in her continued pursuit of professional development and her passion for sharing music with others.
