Dr. Mark Shannon

Education

• Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University
• M.B.A. in Managerial Finance from Oklahoma Wesleyan University
• B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Covenant College

Dr. Shannon is the Chair of the Doctor of Business Administration Department Program and the Sports Management Department degree chair.

His areas of expertise include Organizational Leadership, Leadership Theory, Entrepreneurship, and Sports Management.

Previously, Dr. Shannon was a professor at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, where he was awarded Faculty Member of the Year on several occasions by the student body.  He was also awarded the Adult Graduate Studies Excellence and Promising Professor awards.  Dr. Shannon served on several committees there, including the Provost Ad Hoc Committee, Doctor of Business Administration Committee, The Christian Liberal Arts and Assessment Committee, The Graduate Affairs Committee, the Faculty Handbook Committee, and the D.B.A. steering committee.

Dr. Shannon has published articles in the Journal of Management Development and the International Leadership Journal.  He has chaired and been on numerous dissertation committees.  He has also been selected as a presenter at the International Leadership Association multiple times.  Other scholarly endeavors include developing programs and majors creating, developing, and revising numerous course curriculums.

Dr. Shannon enjoys the empty nest life with his wife, Misti.  They have been very active serving at our church in numerous leadership positions, and he enjoys a round of golf when time permits.
