Hometown: I am originally from Smackover, Arkansas, but I have spent most of my adult life in the Jackson, Mississippi area.

Degree: Bachelor of Science in Education, Southern Arkansas University

Hobbies: I enjoy doing a variety of things, but my favorites are cooking, reading, playing Mahjong and attending Pure Barre. I also love to spend quality time with my family and friends.

What do you do in the Office of Admission?

I plan campus visits and events for prospective students. In every aspect of my life, I have always enjoyed entertaining, meeting new people, and sharing information concerning the things I love with others. For these reasons, I believe I have the best job on the Belhaven campus. Each day is special and unique, just like Belhaven University!

What is your perception of Academic Quality at Belhaven University?

Because I attended a smaller university, I appreciate the many good qualities, from an academic standpoint that Belhaven University offers. Each student benefits from our student faculty ratio, personal relationships formed with fellow students, and the connections between faculty and students.

What do you like best about Belhaven?

Belhaven University has a unique environment not easily found at other institutions of higher education. The Christian atmosphere found at Belhaven is a way of life each day, which encourages faith, the promises of God, and a beautiful purpose for living each day of life. Regardless of what is happening in a student’s life, there is a constant, consistent, and dependable reminder to stay centered with God.

Favorite Place on Campus and Why?

I love the energy of the university campus, which is why my favorite places at Belhaven University are the Student Center and the Dining Commons. Both locations are lively and offer opportunities to meet new people, create new friendships, and learn about current events and the happenings of interest on campus.

Advice to Incoming Students

When giving advice to incoming students, I always want to ensure that each student is aware that an education is for keeps and can never be taken away from them. It is always a foundation to build upon and opens many doors, experiences, and opportunities that otherwise might not be available. Education is a life changer, and I encourage every student to embrace every moment of this special time in their lives.
