New transfer students will prepare for their first semester during Belhaven’s Transfer Orientation Day. At this event, students will meet one-on-one with their academic advisers, register for the fall semester, hear from key leaders at Belhaven and more.  Make plans now to join us!

What is Transfer Orientation?
Transfer Orientation is a time for students to meet with a faculty academic advisor to schedule classes for the fall semester and to hear from key leaders on campus to ensure your success as at transfer student.

When will it be?
The date is set for Friday, May 28, 2021. Check-in will be from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. in the Billy Kim International Center (see campus map) with the Welcome Session beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Who should attend?
All transfers, who have been accepted for admission to the university, are strongly encouraged to attend. Parents and siblings are welcomed! You and your parent will have the opportunity to hear from key campus leaders during the informative Welcome Session before registering for class.

Do I need to pay anything before I come?
If you have not paid your enrollment deposit of $100, you must pay that amount before May 27. You can pay online with credit card (through TouchNet on your Blazenet), or mail check or money order.

Can I spend the night on campus?
Belhaven will not be providing rooms on campus to parents and students. However, there are several hotels in the area. Here are some suggestions that are near campus:

8:00 – 9:00 a.m. Orientation Check-in – Billy Kim International Center
During this time, students have the opportunity to get official student ID, register your vehicle. The Bookstore, Shoe Bird (coffee shop) will be open during this time.
9:00 a.m. Welcome to BU Session – Billy Kim International Center
This “can’t miss” session is designed specifically for students and parents to get important information from key leaders and administrators from a variety of Belhaven divisions.
10:30 a.m. Students: Campus Connections

Parents: Parent Session
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Lunch – The Commons
Lunch and games will be provided outside by The Commons, so feel free to eat when you’re able! You won’t meet a stranger!
11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Students: Advising and Registration
At check-in on Friday, students will be given an assigned time and location to meet one-on-one with your faculty advisor to register for fall classes.

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. These campus departments will be open:

  • Financial Aid and Student Accounts
  • Shoe Bird
  • Office of Admission

The Security Office (located in Joy Lackey on the second floor of Student Center) will be open from 10:30 - 3:00 p.m. for you to make your photo for your student i.d. and get your parking decal.

The Student Financial Services Office will be open until 5 p.m.

The Bookstore will be open from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
