In A Life in the Theatre, Sir Tyrone Guthrie says, "I believe that the purpose of the theatre is to show mankind to himself and thereby to show to man God's image. It (live theatre) will survive as long as mankind demands to be amused, terrified, instructed, shocked, corrupted and delighted by tales told in a manner which will always remain mankind's most vivid and powerful manner of telling a story."

The Lord has given each of us a body and a voice. These are the artist's tools of theatre. At Belhaven we learn to respect those tools, maintain them and honor the Lord with our unique contributions. Join us for Arts Discover Day and celebrate through workshops, classes, auditions, and performance, what the Lord has given you in tools, talent, inspiration and presentation. The uniqueness of Theatre at Belhaven is that we take seriously the issue of what is presented in the context of why it is offered and to whom. Come join us for a better understanding of what that means to the 21st Century theatre artist. Please call the admission office at 800-960-5940 for more information.
