Dr. Ronald W. McKinney, a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, has been named Alumnus of the Year for Belhaven College. Currently, he lives in Dalton, Georgia with his wife Bonnie. He is the pastor of Kinsey Drive Baptist Church and also works at Christian Heritage School as a teacher, coach and a member of the board of directors.

“Dr. McKinney is a true beacon for Belhaven College,” said Michael Dukes, Director of Alumni and Annual Giving, Belhaven College. “The manner in which he has lived his life exemplifies the College now 125 year old mission of preparing men and women to serve Christ Jesus in every aspect of their lives. It was indeed a privilege to honor him as this year Alumnus of the Year.”

Dr. McKinney graduated from Belhaven in 1967 with a degree in Business and Art, along with a minor in Bible and Greek. He received his Masters in Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from North American School of Theology. Since 1967, Dr. McKinney has impacted many different people with his writings, television programs, pastoring, and serving as on the board of directors with Christian Heritage School. Currently, he serves on several board of directors for organizations such as the Gospel Light Foundation for the Blind, Inc., the Make-A-Wish All-Star Games, and is one of the founding board members for the Northwest Georgia Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
