A $1000 Hurricane Recovery Grant is now available for new students who apply for an associate, bachelor, or an MBA degree at Belhaven College in Houston, Texas, between now and December 31, 2008. Additionally any student who applied prior to Hurricane Ike, but could not start would also be eligible for this grant. Belhaven College wants to help Houston residents who wish to further their education by offering this grant to those who might otherwise put their educational dreams on hold because of Hurricane Ike.

“We know the cost associated with hurricane recovery,” expresses Dr. Roger Parrott, President of Belhaven College, “With campuses Houston, Orlando, and Jackson, Mississippi and a major hurricane almost each year we understand the extra expenses, the long lines for gas, and the emotional exhaustion of life with no electricity. With this in mind, we wanted to offer some light at the end of the tunnel, in the form of this $1000 recovery grant.”

The Hurricane Recovery Grant in the amount of $1000 will be spread out over two financial aid disbursement periods, and cannot be combined with any other aid.
