Linda G. Phillips, assistant vice president for Institutional Advancement at Belhaven, was recently nominated for the Women in Higher Education Mississippi Network Leadership Award.

The statewide organization established the award to recognize a woman each year who has demonstrated leadership and a commitment to promoting initiatives that identify, develop, encourage, mentor and advance women in higher education.

WHEMN comprises institutional representatives from each of the state junior and senior colleges and universities. The annual conference is designed to deliver practical information and networking opportunities to other higher education professionals in the state.

At Belhaven College, Phillips is responsible for the Student Financial Planning Division which includes all financial aid programs, student tuition accounts and the college Information Technology Department.

Phillips served as president of the Mississippi Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators in 1994-1995 and has served in multiple capacities within the organization. She holds a bachelor of science in social work and a MBA from Mississippi College.
