The Belhaven men’s basketball team jumped into the 19th spot in the latest edition of the NAIA Division I Coaches’ Top 25 poll, moving up one spot to crack the Top 20. The Blazers were unranked in the preseason version of the poll, so their early success is the national poll is an exciting turn of events.

Belhaven is off to a 7-1 start this season with big wins over Millsaps 76-57 and an 87-67 win over Lambuth University who was ranked 14th in the preseason poll. The Blazers are averaging 75 points per game while surrendering just 59.3 points per game to their opponents. Korey Whiting leads the team in scoring with 14.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per night.
