The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams

Written by Mississippi native, Tennessee Williams, The Glass Menagerie is considered a masterpiece of American theatre. It is set in depression-era St. Louis as a young man struggles to free himself from the trap of a tepid, humdrum life and the schemes of his mother, an aging Southern Belle, as she attempts to find a suitable beau for her anxious invalid daughter. The story paints a picture of hope inside three very different people. One hopes for freedom from the material world, another clings to a crumbling tradition and the last hopes for a dream world as fragile as the glass menagerie. Directed by senior theater performance major, Alex Grubbs. Admission is $10 adults, $5 seniors and children.
