The Belhaven Blazers announce the 2009 Baseball schedule, highlighted by 30 home games at Smith Wills Stadium in Jackson. Ranked #25 in Pre-Season polls, the Blazers open their season at Spring Hill College on January 23rd. Their home opener against LSU-Shreveport is set for Friday, February 6th at 4:00 p.m.
Head Coach Hill Denson says, “I am excited about the schedule that we have put together this year. Hopefully we can put a good team on the field once again. We have a great facility in Smith Wills; It is a good chance for the Jackson Metro baseball fans to come out and watch some good baseball in a fun atmosphere.”
In 2008, Belhaven College Baseball had an overall record of 41-17 and made their 4th trip to the NAIA Regionals in five years. Last year was also the third consecutive 40 plus win season for the Blazers.
