Abigail Crumley, Belhaven Music majorAugust 17, 2009: Belhaven College Music Ministries major Abigail Crumley won second place in the Senior Women's category in the three-state Southern Region competition of the National Association of the Teachers of Singing (NATS). The NATS competition welcomed hundreds of singers from all major universities and colleges in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

 

Abigail took second place for her performance of “Monica's Waltz,” an aria from Gian Carlo Menotti's opera, The Medium. A student of Belhaven music professor Dr. Christopher Shelt, Abigail was the recipient of Belhaven's "Exemplary Vocal Music Award" for 2007-2008 as well as the "Music Excellence Award" for the 2008-2009 school year. In 2008, she placed 3rd in the Southern Region Vocal Competition of NATS.
