February 26, 2010: The Graduate Teacher Education department at Belhaven University is offering a free Praxis II workshop on Saturday, March 6 from 8:30 AM-12:30 PM. The workshop is available to any prospective or current student who has submitted an application for admission to the Master of Arts in Teaching program (MAT) or the Paraprofessional Accelerated Curriculum in Education Program (P.A.C.E.).
The MAT program is designed for students who have a non-education bachelor's degree and desire to teach at the elementary or secondary level. The P.A.C.E. program is tailored for Teacher's Assistants who seek to complete a degree in Elementary Education. Both the MAT and PACE programs offer night classes so that students can earn their higher education degree while working full-time.
To sign up for the Praxis workshop, call Helean Hawkins, Associate Director of Graduate Education Admission: (601) 968-8766. Seating is limited, and reservations will be given on a first come, first served basis. Visit the Graduate Teacher Education website for more information or to apply for admission into the MAT or P.A.C.E. programs.
