February 25, 2010 (Memphis, Tenn.): Belhaven University-Memphis has partnered with the Memphis Center for Urban Theological Studies (MCUTS) to provide certificate, associate, and bachelor degree programs in Biblical Studies and Social Services designed for urban pastors and non-profit leaders. These degree programs are designed to align with the MCUTS mission “to provide affordable, accessible, Christ-centered theological education for leaders in the urban context in order to transform Memphis and the Mid-South for the Kingdom of Christ.
Belhaven and MCUTS share similar visions for Christian higher education, which has aided in the implementation of this strategic partnership. The curriculum designed for MCUTS students incorporates the Christian Worldview into the latest theory and practice, developing the skills needed to be an urban church leader or non-profit leader in today’s complex and fast-changing world. Classes meet just once a week and focus on a personal, mentoring professor-student relationship. For more information on available programs and how to apply, view Belhaven Christian Ministries page for the Memphis campus.
