January 5, 2010: As part of Belhaven University’s Preston Chamber Music Series, the Belhaven Music Department presents “An Evening of Diamonds I” on January 26th at 7:30 pm. The evening features two musical flavors from two music faculty chamber groups: Dvorak’s “Dumky” Piano Trio and “Slavonic Dances” duets are juxtaposed with the “Carmen Fantasy” by Sarasate for violin and piano, along with enchanting Costa Rican piano duets.
The Belhaven Piano Trio is comprised of Mississippi Symphony Orchestra principal cellist Mr. Bennett Randman and Belhaven faculty members Mr. Song Xie, violinist, and Dr. Stephen Sachs, pianist. The Sachs Piano Duo features Carolyn and Stephen Sachs.
General Admission $10, Seniors/Students/Children $5. Complimentary admission for Belhaven faculty/staff/students and immediate families. Doors open at 7:00 pm, Belhaven Center for the Arts Concert Hall.
