October 12, 2010: Peter Slowik, Professor of Viola and Director of The String Division of Oberlin Conservatory of Music, will be conducting a String and Chamber Master Class in the Recital Room of the Center for the Arts on Tuesday, October 26, from 3-6 pm. During this class Slowik will coach violinists, violists, and chamber ensembles in creative and dynamic music making. Slowik has presented master classes at numerous institutions, including Baylor University, Ohio State University, and the University of Miami. Before beginning his time at Oberlin, Slowik taught at Northwestern University, Cleveland Institute of Music, Wichita State University, and Bethel College. He is currently President of the American Viola Society and Artistic Director for Credo Chamber Music Association.
