October 21, 2010: Belhaven’s Musical Revue & Dessert presents “Show People,” an evening of songs, scenes, and dance from some of the best of musical theatre. Performances include “There’s No Business Like Show Business” from Annie Get Your Gun, “With One Look” from Sunset Boulevard, and “Show People” from Curtains. The show is student-directed; Senior Abby Wiggins is the Artistic Director, sophomore Andrew Craig is the Musical Director, and senior Victoria Swilley is the Choreographer. “The show is about actors in the musical theater,” says Craig. “It’s about us as artists and the type of lifestyle we go through.” “It appeals to a lot of people,” adds Wiggins, alluding to the show’s variety. “It’s going to be a lot of fun, and everybody should come out.”

The directors expressed great excitement about the cast and performance. “The energy from the cast is just amazing,” says Craig. “They bring a lot of energy and passion to the table, their characters come alive.”

In addition to the entertainment of the performances, desserts from Broad Street Bakery will be served.

The show will be held in the Dining Commons of the McCravey-Triplett Student Center. Come enjoy an evening of entertainment and delicious desserts. The show will run for three nights, Thursday-Saturday, November 4-6 at 7:30 pm. Complimentary admission, dessert $3. Doors open at 7:00 pm.
