America 100 Best College Buys

October 8, 2010: Belhaven has recently been named one of America’s 100 Best College Buys by Institutional Research & Evaluation, Inc. This independent research and consulting organization identifies the American colleges and universities that provide students the very best opportunities in higher education. “Belhaven has been included on this prestigious list for 12 years, and we are glad to be recognized with the best in the country," noted Belhaven University President, Dr. Roger Parrott. "This honor affirms our commitment to academic excellence taught from a Christian worldview perspective and at a great value for our students.” Belhaven was one of only two schools in Mississippi to receive this recognition this year.

America’s 100 Best College Buys identifies colleges and universities that are accredited, four-year institutions that offer bachelor degrees, offer full residential facilities, had their most recent entering freshman class reporting a high school GPA and/or SAT/ACT score equal to or above the national average for entering college freshmen, and have an out-of-state cost of attendance for three quarters or two semesters below the national average cost of tuition, fees, room and board or not exceeding the national average cost by more than ten percent.

Belhaven stands among the select Christian colleges and universities that offer a unique general core curriculum encouraging the development of a personal worldview. The university believes a Christian worldview is a key to preparing men and women academically and spiritually to serve Christ Jesus in their careers, in human relationships, and in the world of ideas.

Founded in 1883, Belhaven University now serves over 3,000 students from campuses in Jackson, Memphis, Orlando, Houston, and online, offering traditional undergraduate degrees, graduate and adult degree programs, and online degree programs.
