February 16, 2010: The Belhaven University Theatre department presents Oscar Wilde "The Importance of Being Earnest" on February 18-20 and 24-27, 2010 in the Center for the Arts Blackbox Theatre. This classic comedy is directed by guest artist John Maxwell, known the world over for his acclaimed one-man show, "Oh Mr. Faulkner, Do You Write?"

Set in Victorian England, the story follows Jack and Algernon as they attempt to woo two young ladies, Gwendolyn and Cecily, who both believe they are destined to love a man called Earnest. The cast includes Alex Freel as Jack, Scott Gaines as Algernon, Stephanie Bishop as Gwendolyn, and Cassie Marcellino as Cecily.
