July 29, 2010: Belhaven University is proud to announce the addition of these new full-time faculty for the 2010-2011 academic year.

NEW FACULTY BIOS

MRS. REBEKAH BERT, Specialty Instructor of Technical Theatre, comes to Belhaven from Binghamton University where she served as Assistant Technical Director. Rebekah received her B.A. from Grove City College and recently received her M.A. from Binghamton University.

MS. TRACY HARRINGTON, Reference/Databases Librarian, brings four years of experience as a reference librarian from Central Bible College Library. Tracy received her B.A. from Bates College, her M.A. from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, and her M.S.I.S. from the University of Tennessee.

DR. MARSHA JAMES, Assistant Professor of Business Administration, most recently served as adjunct at Millsaps College and Birmingham Southern College. Marsha received her B.S. from The University of Texas at Austin, her M.B.A. from Millsaps College, and her Ph.D. from The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.

MRS. CYNTHIA LEAVELLE, Director of English Language and Culture Project, has been an adjunct at Belhaven for over eight years as well as an ESL Instructor at Reformed Theological Seminary. Cynthia received both her B.S. and M.A. from University of North Texas.

MR. JOHN MAXWELL, Assistant Professor of Theatre, a professional actor, director, writer and teacher who also maintains a non-profit religious drama ministry, is bringing his collective experience to Belhaven. John received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Mississippi. He also served Belhaven in Jan-Feb 2010 as the guest director of The Importance of Being Earnest.

MR. AARON MCCARVER, Specialty Instructor of English Composition, brings with him seven years of Belhaven adjunct experience as well as his twenty years of experience as English Instructor from Wesley College. Aaron received his B.S from Wesley College and his M.A. from Mississippi College.

DR. CLAUDIA NISBETT, Professor of Education, is returning to Belhaven’s School of Education after serving as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Education at Faulkner University for the past six years. Claudia received her B.S.E., M.Ed. and Ed.D. from Delta State University.

DR. LAWRENCE RUDDELL, Associate Professor of Business Administration, has been an adjunct at the Houston campus for the past year. Larry received his B.A. from Davidson College, his M.A. from The Ohio State University, his M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary and his Ed.D. from the University of Houston.

MR. KARLOS TAYLOR, Specialty Instructor of Graphic Design, has been a freelance graphic designer and multimedia specialist as well as an adjunct for Belhaven, Jackson State and Mississippi College. Karlos has his B.F.A. from Mississippi College and his M.F.A. from Memphis College of Art.

MR. J. DAVID WEST, Assistant Professor of Art, brings ten years of experience as an artist and educator, most recently from Baton Rouge Community College. David received his B.A. from Mississippi College and his M.F.A. from Louisiana State University.

MRS. EMILY WRIGHT, Specialty Instructor of Dance, has been an adjunct for Belhaven for the past two years and also brings her teaching experience from Herberger College of Fine Arts Department of Dance. Emily received her B.F.A. from Belhaven University and her M.F.A. from Arizona State University.
