November 15, 2011 (Jackson) - The 6th Annual One Act Play Festival is an evening of short plays acted, produced, and directed by Belhaven theatre students.

Theatre students showcase their hard work from the fall semester by combining their production, supervising and directing skills to create these one act plays.

Winning short plays from the Belhaven One Act Play Competition were selected for this year’s festival.

The 6th Annual One Act Play Festival is November 29-30 in the Blackbox Theatre at 7:30 P.M.; the doors open at 7:00 P.M.

Joe Frost, Chair of the Theatre Department and Assistant Professor of Theatre said, “It a great opportunity for our students to learn the art of collaboration in the classroom and in production all in the same project. Were so pleased that it is in its 6th year and still able to present exciting new short works to our audience.”

Delectable desserts like cheesecake, cookies and hot chocolate will be on sale during the performance to benefit Belhaven’s Alpha Psi Omega chapter of the National Theatre Honor Society.

Admission is free and there is no reserved seating. Contact the Belhaven Theatre Box Office at 601-965-7026 or e-mail for additional information.
