March 9, 2011: On Friday March 11, 2011 the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra along with some of the greatest talents in the Jackson area will be presenting a variety of works from various composers including Belhaven University's own Andrew Sauerwein. The MSO will be presenting Chamber III: Tale from the Road. This is the third part of MSO's four-concert Chamber Series and featuring the talents of Viola Dacus, mezzo-soprano, and James Martin, baritone, under the direction of composers James Sclater and Andrew Sauerwein. Dr. Sauerwein's presentation of The Landing is a reflection on poetry by C.S Lewis and while it was originally a vocal piece it has now been arranged for strings.
Chamber III: Tale from the Road provides an opportunity to hear an evening of great music and an excellent opportunity to support the local groups that make events of this caliber possible. Tickets for the event are $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-18. Pre-order tickets on-line from Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. The box office will open at 6:30.
The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church 305 North Congress Street, Jackson MS. For more information contact the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra at (601) 960-1565.
