March 3, 2011: Belhaven University's Sports Administration program earned its place in history as the first sports related degree to receive accreditation by a business school accreditation body in the state of Mississippi. As of February 22, 2011 the Sports Administration program has been fully accredited by the IACBE.

"Our sports administration graduates will have a degree that is recognized for meeting national benchmarks in both business and sports administration," said Dr. Chip Mason, Dean of the School of Business. "Sports are currently in the top ten businesses in terms of revenue generated, so our graduates should have significant employment opportunities."

"Belhaven has many accreditations that speak of the national and international academy's respect for what we do as a university and the excellent ways we do them," said Dr. Dan Fredericks, Senior Vice President and Provost. "It is encouraging to receive yet another affirmation of our quality by this international agency for our Sports Administration programs."

The IACBE, the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, is a renowned leader in business accreditation, which recognizes excellence in the Business Collegiate world.
