April 28, 2011 (Kansas City, MO): Belhaven baseball jumped to 22nd in the fifth edition of the 2011 NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the NAIA announced Tuesday. The Blazers were ranked 12th in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Poll and were ranked 25th in last week's poll.
Belhaven is 39-15 on the season after pulling out an 8-7 comeback win against Mississippi College last Tuesday night at Smith-Wills Stadium. The Blazers then won two out of three games in a Southern States Athletic Conference West Division series against William Carey University to close the regular season.
The Southern States Athletic Conference continues to be well represented with six other teams being recognized in the current poll. Lee University leads the way landing in the number four spot followed by Auburn-Montgomery (6), Faulkner University (13), Brewton-Parker College (16), and Southern Polytechnic State (19).
