May 24, 2011 (Gulf Shores,AL ) - The Belhaven softball team moved one step closer to the NAIA National Championship game thanks to a 1-0 victory over California State University-San Marcos Tuesday afternoon. This is the closest any Belhaven team has gotten to winning a national championship since men's soccer in 1992.

The Blazers will now meet top ranked California Baptist University Tuesday night at 5:30 PM with the winner punching their ticket to the championship game against Oregon Tech University on Wednesday. Fans can follow the game through a live audio stream.
