March 22, 2011: Part four of the Health & Wellness Seminars at Belhaven University will be focusing on stretching your body correctly and will be held Tuesday, April 5th, from 5:30-7:00 pm. Led by Mr. Max Thomas, Physical Therapist, and Mr. Kevin Spera, strength and conditioning specialist and sports conditioning coach, this lecture, “Are We Stretched Yet?” will discuss and demonstrate proper stretching techniques. This “learn and do” program will help you properly prepare yourself for any exercise you plan to do.

The BU Health & Wellness Series events, which are free and open to the public, contains two key elements. First, are two designated walking trails of either 1 or 1/2 mile in length. Both trails lead walkers through the beautiful Belhaven campus and offer a safe and scenic way to walk your way towards a healthier life. The second component is the unique, educational, and hands-on programs that have been developed to help participants improve their health IQ. Designed to inform you about the fundamentals of a healthy lifestyle, the educational programs are led by experts in a variety of fields and will be enhanced through interaction with Belhaven University Sports Medicine and Exercise Science students and faculty.
