Belhaven is excited about proudly introducing 11 new faculty members to the Belhaven family. Each professor is unique and gifted in their area of teaching. We are truly thankful and blessed to have these talented faculty members with us.
MR. BRANDON ALLEN, Assistant Professor of Sports Administration, has been an Instructor/Academic Advisor at The University of Southern Mississippi for the past six years. Brandon received his B.S. from William Carey College and his M.S. from The University of Southern Mississippi where he is also completing his doctorate in Sports Administration.
DR. HOWARD BARTEE, Assistant Professor and Chair of Sports Administration, most recently served in the administration at Kaplan University. Howard received his B.A. from Tougaloo College, his M.S. from Central Michigan University and his Ed.D. from the United States Sports Academy.
DR. CURT BECK, Dean of Faculty (Chattanooga), has sixteen years of experience as a teacher, college administrator, and another nine years of experience in the management of organizations. Curt received his B.S. from Pillsbury College, his M.S. from Kansas State University and recently completed his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska.
DR. REID BISHOP, Associate Professor of Chemistry, has been the Executive Director of the Mississippi River Field Institute for the National Audubon Society and has spent six years as Assistant Professor at Mississippi College. Reid received his B.S. from Mississippi College, his Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and is completing his M.F.A. from Mississippi College.
MRS. NADINE GRANT, Assistant Professor of Theatre Costuming and Production, comes to Belhaven from Toronto, Ontario and is bringing her experience as a costume designer and technician. Nadine received her B.A. from Bethel College, her M.F.A. from the University of Missouri and has studied under instructors from Cirque de Soleil, Walt Disney and the Designers Guild in Hollywood.
MISS SYLVIA HONG, Assistant Professor of Music, has performed piano concerts in Italy, Korea, England and her native United States. Sylvia received her B.A. from Oberlin Conservatory, an Artist Diploma from the Royal Academy of England, a Performance Diploma from Vancouver Academy, and her M.M. from the University of Maryland.
MRS. BENTE HESS JOHNSON, Assistant Professor of Social Work and Director of Field Education, has been an adjunct for Belhaven the past year as well as serving as a social worker for the North Pike School District. Bente received her B.S. from The University of Southern Mississippi where she is also completing her M.S.W.
MRS. MARGUERITE JOYCE, Dean of Faculty (Houston), brings twenty plus years of university teaching experience and background as director of student academic services for the College of Business and Economics at California State University, Los Angeles. Marguerite received her B.S. from Missouri Western State College, her M.A. from Bowling Green State University and her Ph.D. from The University of Nebraska.
DR. BRENDA REDFERN, Assistant Professor of Accounting, is returning home to full time status again in Belhavens School of Business after serving as an attorney at the Redfern Law Firm in Richland, Mississippi. Dr. Redfern received her J.D. from the University of Mississippi, School of Law, her B.B.A. in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi, and is a Certified Public Accountant and Public Manager. She is pursuing a Master of Accountancy degree as well.
DR. TRACY TRUSSELL, Associate Professor of Business Administration (Chattanooga), has eleven years of teaching experience, including the University of Georgia and Auburn University. Tracy received his B.S. and M.Ed. from Auburn University and his Ph.D. from Colorado State University.
DR. JOLIVETTE WALLACE, Assistant Professor of Business Administration, has been an adjunct at Belhaven for the past two years as well as a full time instructor at Tougaloo College. Jolivette received her B.B.A. from Mississippi State University, her M.B.A. from William Carey University and her Ph.D. from Walden University.
