April 13, 2011: On April 28, Nicole Harwell (09) will be giving an Alumni Piano Recital in culmination of her time and work at Belhaven. Mrs. Harwell graduated as a piano major in May 2009 and currently serves as staff accompanist. The recital will consist of both solo pieces and collaborative components. Pieces include Chopin’s Ballade No 1 in G minor, Cesar Franck’s Sonata in A with violinist, Shellie Brown, and several vocal works with soprano, Abigail Johnston.

Dr. Sachs, Chair of the Music Department, says that this recital is “a wonderful gift Nicole Harwell is giving to the Belhaven community. Come hear a level of excellence seldom achieved during undergraduate study.”

Mrs. Harwell will be pursuing a Masters in Music from the University of Northern Colorado. The recital will take place Thursday, April 28 at 7:30 pm in the Concert Hall of the Belhaven University’s Center for the Arts with complementary admission.
