January 7, 2011: Belhaven’s own Shellie Brown, a junior violin student, has been selected as one of the nine finalists for the Coer d’Alene (CDA) Symphony Young Artist Competition after competing with 139 applicants at Washington State.

The competition will be tough as she is competing against students from big name schools such as Eastman School of Music, Yale, and Vanderbilt to name a few. She will be competing on Saturday, January 8 at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. Congratulations, Shellie, for this amazing achievement!
