July 29, 2011 - Kay Stringfellow, alumna of Belhaven University, was recently named Louisville High School’s STAR Teacher for 2010-2011.
She was honored in 1999 as Louisville High School Teacher of the Year and also as District Teacher of the Year. She has been recognized several years in Who’s Who among American Teachers.
For 33 years Stringfellow continues to have a long, rewarding career as a teacher. She taught English at Neshoba Central and music at the Nanih Waiya School before starting at Louisville High School, where she has taught Spanish for the past 31 years.
Stringfellow earned her Bachelor of Arts in History with a concentration in secondary education from Belhaven University, and then received her Master of Arts in Spanish from Mississippi State University.
The Louisville High School STAR Student, Ryan Shotts, chose Stringfellow as STAR Teacher for this year.
