March 11, 2011: As a part of Belhaven University’s Health & Wellness Series, on March 26, 2011, starting at 8:00 a.m. all students, faculty and community members are invited to attend the Green and Gold 5k Run and Walk. Free t-shirts will be given to all participants and the winners will receive an award from FleetFeet. After the run Dr. Randy Ramsey, Mr. Wayne Jimenez, and Mrs. Leslie Mclin will be sharing their expertise on how important feet, posture, and form are to making walking, jogging, or running experience as productive as it can be.

The BU Health & Wellness Series, which is free and open to the public, contains two key elements. First, are two designated walking trails of either 1 or 1/2 mile in length. Both trails lead walkers through the beautiful Belhaven campus and offer a safe and scenic way to walk your way towards a healthier life. The second component is the unique, educational, and hands-on programs that have been developed to help participants improve their health IQ. Designed to inform you about the fundamentals of a healthy lifestyle, the educational programs are led by experts in a variety of fields and will be enhanced through interaction with Belhaven University Sports Medicine and Exercise Science students and faculty.

Belhaven stands among the select Christian colleges and universities that offer a unique general core curriculum encouraging the development of a personal worldview. The university believes a Christian worldview is a key to preparing men and women academically and spiritually to serve Christ Jesus in their careers, in human relationships, and in the world of ideas.

Founded in 1883, Belhaven University now serves over 3,000 students from campuses in Jackson, Memphis, Orlando, Houston, Chattanooga, Atlanta, and online, offering traditional undergraduate degrees, graduate and adult degree programs, and online degree programs.
