January 11, 2011: On January 24-25 Belhaven University will hold Scholars Day, a special event for accepted students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, a test of at least 27 on the ACT or 1200 on the SAT.

"Scholars Day is about getting to know the students better. We have a solid scholarship and financial aid program that has served more than 90% of our students in the past. This event allows us to interact and know our students. Through the essay and interview process we see qualities that help us award more merit-based funding to qualified students, " said Suzanne Sullivan, Belhaven University Director of Admission.

On Monday the 24th this group will be participating in a campus tour, dinner, and special presentation by University President, Roger Parrott. Tuesday each student will interview with the Scholarship Committee, visit a class, and attend a host of other events. Parents can also meet with the Financial Aid staff.
"If a student meets the requirements for scholars day found on our Scholars Day website and is accepted for admission by January 14 he or she will receive an invitation to attend," Sullivan added.
