March 18, 2011: Belhaven’s Dance Ensemble will be presenting the Spring Dance Concert on April 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9, 2011. Expect a unique display of choreography by both dance faculty and guest artists. The event features a restaging of Martha Graham’s “Panorama”, a first in Mississippi. “Panorama”, was originally created in 1935 as a sort of social protest, yet with its reconstruction became a show about the dance itself.

The Dance “Panorama” is a perfect example of the American ideas and traditions passed down in the form of dance. Through various forms of dance – classical, contemporary ballet, modern and cultural dance, audiences can be sure to enjoy a multileveled and complex viewing experience brought to them by Belhaven’s Dance Ensemble.

Suggested donation $10, Seniors/Students $5. Complimentary admission for children, Belhaven faculty/staff/students. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. 1,2,7, and 8. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. on the 9th.
