January 10, 2012 (Jackson) - Belhaven Scholars’ Day, on January 23-24, is an event for accepted students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, a test of at least 27 on the ACT or a 1200 on the SAT.

“Scholars’ Day is a special day for high school seniors considering Belhaven to interview for our top scholarships. We have a solid scholarship and financial aid program that has served more than 90% of our students in the past. Through the essay andinterview process we see qualities that help us award more merit-based funding to qualified students,” said Suzanne Sullivan, Director of Admission.

On Monday, January 24, students will be participating in a campus tour, dinner, and special presentation by Belhaven University President, Roger Parrott. Tuesday, each student will interview with the Belhaven Scholarship Committee, visit a class, and attend a host of other events. Parents are encouraged to attend and canalso meet with Belhaven’s Financial Aid staff.

Sullivan adds, “Scholars Day is a great opportunity for the students to get to know our campus better as well as faculty/staff who can get to know some of the top prospective students. They will not only rub shoulders with current Belhaven students, but with other prospective students who could be a potential roommate for the fall.”
