February 17, 2012 (Jackson) - After four years of study, students in the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Program will present their final projects at the Senior Dance Concert. Over the course of four nights these Belhaven dance students’ will display their hard work, which has lead them to these performances.
The Senior Dance Concerts will start at 7:30 P.M. in the Belhaven Visual Arts and Dance Center, Studio Theatre at the following dates:
Concert A - Wednesday, February 29 and Friday, March 2
Concert B - Thursday, March 1 and Saturday, March 3
Each senior has a theme for their project that is creatively unique to the individual dancer, and will consist of classical ballet, modern and contemporary dance styles.
“My senior project is about the intersection of dance and prayer. It’s been so neat to be able to explore my art in the context of my faith,” said Hannah Johnson, a senior dance student from Spring, TX.
Erik Sampson, another senior from Jackson, said, “The journey my senior project has taken me on has brought me into a deeper understanding of the uniqueness of the individual and the expressions of love found with each life story.”
Admission will be a suggested donation of $10 and $5 for seniors and students. Admission is free for Belhaven faculty, staff and students.
