March 14, 2012 (Jackson) - Mississippis best high school string students are coming to Belhaven University to grow as musicians, learn, and perform.
After two days of rehearsal and study, the Mississippi All-State String Orchestra will present a musically moving performance on Saturday, March 24 in Belhaven Universitys Center for the Arts Concert Hall. This free concert starts at 3:00 P.M. and the doors open at 2:00 P.M.
Song Xie, Assistant Professor of Music and Conductor of the Belhaven Chamber String Orchestra, said, This is a wonderful opportunity for young string players around the state to come together to study, share and perform music. This concert that concludes the weekend is a moment for everyone to marvel at what is possible in Mississippi String Music.
