September 14, 2012 (Memphis) - Belhaven University Memphis is keeping its students and community connected and up-to-date on current and upcoming events. Whether it’s academic reminders, community outreach, conferences or an exciting music festival, the Belhaven Memphis upcoming events page will keep you involved.

The Memphis campus will be sponsoring many events this semester like Praise Fest on September 15. Praise Fest is an event where churches, organizations, and small businesses get together and put on a free festival that is fun for all ages. The festival will be from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and will feature music from local Christian artists, craft tables, great food and booths from different churches and businesses.

Belhaven Memphis students, staff, faculty and others in the community are involved with many service events are putting into action the University motto, to serve, not to be served. Since 2006, Belhaven Memphis staff, faculty, and students have teamed with The Refuge Church of North Mississippi to provide backpacks filled with food, clothing, blankets, Bibles, and holiday treats to homeless individuals in the Memphis area.

Other service related events includes the EWI Annual Golf Tournament which Belhaven Memphis is sponsoring. This annual event raised money for local charities and the ongoing mission of Executive Women International (EWI). The Always Giving Back Foundation Black & White Affair was founded by Belhaven Memphis student C. H. “Tim” Williams. This event is hosted to raise money in celebration of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s 50th Anniversary.

Memphis is participating in the Dress for Success Annual Purses, Pumps, & Pantyhose Drive on Monday, October 8. Dress for Success is a non-profit agency that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women.

Belhaven is also sponsoring a number or charitable organizations like the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi and the Mississippi Riverkings who are both active in community development.
