May 30 2012 (Jackson) - Incoming freshmen, it is time to get ready for your first year of college at Belhaven University. Mark your calendars and make sure you don't miss B & U Day Thursday and Friday, June 14-15.

There are many things new students need to do before jumping into life on campus and B & U Day was created so Belhaven freshmen could dot there i's and cross their t's. Students can complete all of the necessary business items before school begins, such as having an I.D. card made, setting up a library account, assigning a student email address, etc.

“B & U Day is a fun and exciting time where incoming freshman can get a glimpse of residence life while connecting with other incoming students,” said Jake Donald, Associate Director of Admission. “Also, the students have the opportunity to meet with their advisor and schedule their fall classes. We have a lot planned for the parents, too.”

All freshmen accepted for admission to the university and their parents are encouraged to attend. There will be several programs provided for parents. Dinner on Thursday and continental breakfast and lunch on Friday will be provided for students and parents.

These two days will be a great opportunity for freshmen to spend time with their roommates, meet some new faces, participate in campus activities and get to know others in the freshmen class.

Joy Dear, Admission Counselor said, “Freshmen should come ready to have fun and ready to start making memories as Belhaven's Class of 2016.“

You can register for B & U Day and check out Belhaven's B & U Day web page for a full schedule of events. Check-in will begin Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the Student Center (see campus map).
