May 22, 2012 (Jackson) - Belhaven Master of Public Administration Program has been granted accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

Dr. Ervin Martin, Director of the MPA Program, said, “We are very pleased our MPA program has been officially accredited by IACBE which is one of the most outstanding official bodies in the country for educational programs. This accreditation further demonstrates the quality of our program curriculum, as evidenced by our graduates’ success as Presidential Fellows in Management over the last three years. Our students, who come from federal, state, and local government agencies, will benefit from the additional accreditation of the MPA program at Belhaven University.”

The Master of Public Administration degree equips and prepares graduates for increased leadership and management responsibilities within public or non-profit organizations.

Dr. Chip Mason, Dean of the School of Business, said, "We are thrilled that the hard work of our faculty and students in the MPA program has been recognized by accreditation from International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education. Accreditation tells key stakeholders such as students, public employers and the general public that Belhaven is producing public servants who are competent, exhibit sound character, and are committed to excellence."

The IACBE, founded in 1997, is the leader in specialized accreditation of business programs and recognized Belhaven University as an institution of higher learning that excels in business education, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Belhaven stands among the select Christian colleges and universities that offer a unique general core curriculum encouraging the development of a personal worldview. The university believes a Christian worldview is a key to preparing men and women academically and spiritually to serve Christ Jesus in their careers, in human relationships, and in the world of ideas.

Founded in 1883, Belhaven University now serves over 3,000 students from campuses in Jackson, Memphis, Orlando, Houston, Chattanooga, Atlanta and online, offering traditional undergraduate degrees, graduate and adult degree programs, and online degree programs.
