April 25, 2012 (Jackson) - Belhaven University is offering two special camps that explore the arts and shape the talents of students. The Summer Arts Intensive and the Summer Arts Camp are month long camps that will run from July 9 through August 3.
The Summer Art Intensive provides high school students, ninth grade and up, an opportunity to enrich their creative side as well as develop skills and techniques in visual art, creative writing, theatre, music, dance and graphic design. Students will participate in two classes of their choosing, each focusing on one of the specific areas of the arts. Small group classes, taught by qualified professors, not only help students spend their summer creatively but also prepare them for college auditions and portfolios.
Summer Arts Intensive Camp Fees:
$800 for early bird registration before May 5
$900 for regular registration
$1000 for late registration after May 20
The Summer Arts Camp gives younger students, Kindergarten through eighth grade, an exciting introduction into the arts. Each student will get an opportunity to explore and participate in all four areas of the arts. Students will participate in art, music, theatre and dance.
Summer Arts Camp Fees:
$400 for two weeks until May 15
$600 for early bird registration until May 5
$650 for regular registration
$750 for late registration after May 20
The Summer Arts Intensive and the Summer Arts Camp not only invests into students creativity, but into their hearts. The camps are also meant to be an exploration of a Christian worldview within the arts and how they interact.
Whether it is acting, painting, dancing, designing or singing students will have a wonderfully fun experience, but also take away a great foundation, knowledge or direction in the arts. Register now.
Bring your lunch each day or $7 and one will be provided for student. Contact Bonnie McNair for any questions at 601-974-6478 or email her at bmcnair@belhaven.edu.
