November 26, 2013 (Jackson) - Belhaven University’s Orlando Campus will honor its graduating students during the Orlando Commencement Ceremony on Friday, December 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the Life Center Church, Eatonville, Fla.
Dr. Richard Harris, Assistant Vice President for Adult Studies, said, “Commencement is an exciting time for our graduating students. They work very hard on their academics while balancing full-time jobs, family obligations, and full-time college courses of study. The successful completion of their study opens a new chapter in their lives. It is a joyous occasion worthy of celebrating. We invite their extended families to join us in celebrating their success.”

The commencement speaker for the Orlando ceremony will be Dr. Stephen W. Brown, Founder of Key Life Network, Inc. and Emeritus Professor of Preaching and Pastoral Ministry. Dr. Brown is a gifted pastor, educator, author, speaker and broadcaster. Key Life Network, Inc. is a ministry that presents honest and thoughtful biblical teaching through radio broadcasts, podcasts, seminars and publications. Dr. Brown hosts a 15-minute national radio show called “Key Life” each weekday, a weekly talk show called “Steve Brown, Etc.” which is streamed over the internet and a one-minute feature called “Now You Think About That”. These broadcasts are currently heard on over 600 outlets.
His educational journey began at High Point College in High Point, North Carolina where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion. Dr. Brown continued his education at Boston University School of Theology in Boston, Mass. where he received his Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree. Due to his outstanding contributions, he was awarded the Doctor of Letters degree from King College in Bristol, Tenn. and an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Grove City College in Grove City, Pa.
After teaching communications and practical ministry courses for almost two decades, Dr. Brown retired from Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) and remains Emeritus Professor of Preaching and Pastoral Ministry at Reformed Theological Seminary; Orlando, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; and Washington D.C. He is a visiting professor at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pa. and Knox Seminary in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
He has published more than a dozen books such as about Christian life and ministry such as Three Free Sin… God’s Not Mad at You, Approaching God, and A Scandalous Freedom: The Radical Nature of the Gospel. He is married to Anna Williamson of Dublin, Georgia. He and his wife have two daughters and three granddaughters.
