November 4, 2013 (Jackson) - The Belhaven Orchestra, Strings and Choir Concert on Tuesday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m. will present music from Beethoven’s Fantasy In C Minor for Piano, Chorus and Orchestra (“The Choral Fantasy”). This performance will be held in the Belhaven Concert Hall in the Center for the Arts.
Senior pianist Megan van der Bijl will be featured in the concert and the Belhaven Orchestra will debut work by student composer, Libby Roberts. Student conductor Andrew Craig will take the baton and conduct Robert’s composition. The String Chamber Orchestra will complete the evening along with string solos and chamber ensembles.
Dr. Christopher Shelt, Coordinator of Vocal Arts, and Mr. Song Xie, Associate Professor of Music, will share the baton throughout the concert. This concert will present music sure to thrill young and old alike! There will be complimentary admission for all. Doors open at 7 p.m.
