April 25, 2013 (Jackson) - Because Gov. Phil Bryant’s 5K Run for Health will take place at the same time as the Belhaven University Graduation Commencement at 9:30 a.m., many of the main roads will be closed due to the event. Below, we have provided directions to help you navigate around the race. These detours can help you and your family get to Thalia Mara Hall on time. Please appropriate extra time to allow for heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

From I-55:

Merge onto High Street
Turn right onto N. President Street
Take the first left onto George Street
Turn left onto N. West Street
Take the first right onto N Lamar Street
Take a left onto Pascagoula Street
Thalia Mara Hall will be on your right

From the West (I-20):

Traveling East on I-20/I-55, merge onto I-55 toward Jackson
Take US51/State Street Exit (#45)
Turn left onto Court Street
Veer right when Court Street forks (onto Roach Street)
Turn right onto Pascagoula Street
Thalia Mara Hall will be on your right

From the East (I-20):

Traveling West on I-20, take Exit 45B
Merge onto US51/State Street
Turn left onto Court Street
Veer right when Court Street forks (onto Roach Street)
Turn right onto Pascagoula Street

The Belhaven University Jackson Commencement is on April 27, 2013. Two ceremonies will celebrate the accomplishments of students at Thalia Mara Hall on 255 East Pascagoula Street in Downtown Jackson. The undergraduate ceremony will be at 9:30 a.m., then at 2:30 p.m. the adult, graduate and online students will hold their graduation activities.
