March 19, 2014 (Jackson) - The Board of Directors at Pinnacle Trust promoted Belhaven University alumnus Jeremy Nelson (’04) to President of the comprehensive financial solutions company. Nelson has been with the firm for ten years and has been an integral part of its strategic development.

After beginning with the firm in 2004, he took on running the operations department in June 2006. In November 2008, Nelson began working with the firm management on long-range planning and then took the role of Chief Investment Officer in January 2012. In the role of President, Nelson will use his diverse background to ensure that Pinnacle Trust continues to be a leader in the financial services industry and a place where clients can feel comfortable they have a firm that is looking out for their well being. "Were very excited that Jeremy is taking over additional leadership responsibilities at Pinnacle Trust," said Stacey Wall, Chief Executive Officer. "He has and will continue to play a major role in the continued growth of the company."

In addition to his role as President, Nelson will continue to oversee all aspects of investment policy at Pinnacle Trust as Chief Investment Officer. "I knew Pinnacle Trust was a special company when I joined the team in 2004," said Nelson. "After the Dot.com bubble burst and so many investors retirements were derailed, I knew I had to find a firm that was totally focused on its clients. That is why I joined Pinnacle Trust. The events in 2008 further shaped my views on what a wealth management firm has to be about. It has to be about helping clients understanding their financial goals and creating plans to get there. Markets go up and they go down but those who have a plan and remain disciplined fair the best and that what we are going to continue to do."

Nelson received his B.S. in Business Administration with a Minor in Finance from Belhaven University in 2004, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Originally from Golden, B.C. Canada, he attended Belhaven on a four-year golf scholarship. Nelson is a graduate of the American Bankers Association National and Graduate Trust Schools, where he earned the Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation. He is a former president and current member of the Mississippi chapter of the Financial Planning Association. Nelson currently serves on the advisory board of Eat Here Brands. In 2005, he was named as one of Jackson "Young Guns: The Best of the TwentySomethings" by the Metro Business Chronicle.
