November 20, 2014 (Jackson) - Belhaven Choral and Vocal Arts will present Gloria in Excelsis: A Christmas Celebration at the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on Saturday, November 22. This free performance at 7:30 p.m. will feature student voices from the Belhaven Concert Choir and Chorale with instrumentalists, student conductors, soloists and orchestra performing Gloria in Excelsis by Antonio Vivaldi.
“Vivaldi is both joyfully vivacious and soulfully tuneful. His Gloria in Excelsis is a treat to perform and to hear,” said, Dr. Christopher Shelt, Professor of Vocal Arts, Choral Artsand Music Ministries. “We will also perform two Gustav Holst Christmas carolswith our fantastic freshmen harpist Kate Ray.The harp will add a unique color to these performances.
