October 10, 2014 (Jackson) -Belhaven's Visual Art Department will display the photography of guest artist Jeremiah Ariaz in the Bitsy Irby Gallery from October 18 to November 28. The Guest Artist Exhibition will begin with an opening reception on Saturday, October 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Ariaz is the Associate Professor of Photography at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute and his Master of Fine Arts from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His art explores the tension between nature and the consequence of manifest destiny's impulse to dominate the land. Admission is free.
