June 30, 2014 (Jackson) - Belhaven University has added a Bachelor of Science in Accounting to its online offerings. Students who earn an accounting degree are in high demand and this degree provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the accounting profession.
An accounting degree from Belhaven can open up a variety of career opportunities like public, tax, government, corporate, managerial and not-for-profit accounting as well as auditing and internal auditing. Graduates also have the option to take the CPA exam to become a certified accountant. Students who are qualified to take the exam may need added coursework to meet the 150-hour requirement. If out of state, students will need to check with the state board of public accountancy for CPA exam qualifying rules.
