Professional players with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will perform the compositions of Murphy, Eltzroth and other students from Mississippi College and Jackson State University.

This special event is free and will take place in the museum's Trustmark Grand Hall. The concert will start at 5:30 p.m. and each piece will be read, discussed and read a second time. This process will give audience members an inside view of the music making process.

Dr. Andrew Sauerwein, Associate Professor of Music, said, “Writing for a large ensemble is a complex, detailed process and it is quite rare for student composers to be able to hear their own orchestra work read by a professional orchestra, especially at the undergraduate level. Hearing the results of their musical labor and receiving valuable feedback from Maestro Crafton Beck and MSO players is invaluable.”
