ghost stories of MississippiOctober 20, 2015 (Jackson, Miss) - On October 29-31, the Belhaven Theatre Department will present the interactive theatre experience, Ghost Stories of Mississippi. This outdoor production incorporates storytelling based on ghost stories about Mississippi. For three nights at 7:30 p.m., the Gillespie Commons will become the setting for this one-of-a-kind play where a talented cast of ghostly guides will lead audience members through each chilling tale.

Dr. Elissa Sartwell, Chair of Theatre Department, expresses the difference in Ghost Stories of Mississippi from other performances this year. “We are offering the audience an interactive experience. They will walk through the Gillespie Commons, and our actors will use the trees, porches, benches and fountains as backgrounds for the varied stories they will be presenting to the audience. We don't often perform outside, so this production is very different from our other offerings this season. Also, the production relies on a storytelling model.”
